Hey, out
there!
We talked
about South Africa 60 years ago. So, this week we finished watching the film
“Nelson Mandela”.
For those
one, who don´t know Nelson Mandela:
He was a
man in South Africa, who fought for the rights for black people. He was a
famous politician of the A.N.C. In his fight against apartheid, he used peaceful
weapons like demonstrations. On his way to freedom, he got in prison for 18
years. While he was in prison, his wife take over A.N.C and fight with guns. Nelson
Mandela got out of prison, because the whole world, wanted Nelson Mandela to be
free from prison. Then he ran for president for South Africa.
My
favourite scene in the film “Nelson Mandela” was at the very end. He went down
the stairs and all officers, don´t matter if they were with or black, saluted
their new president Nelson Mandela. Mandela winning the election was a very
inspiring moment to me and the music the producers chose fitted it perfect.
Can you
think of a similar situation? I give you a hint: refugees. They want to come to
us, but nobody feels committed to do something for them. What we need, are new
people who help minorities.
Think about
that and have a nice week!
