Hey
everyone,
we want to
tell you something very funny about the summer of our life. We spent ten weeks
in Caorle, a beautiful village near Venice.
One day something very crazy happened to us: It was a normal Thursday afternoon, the weather was quite good, just a little bit cloudy. Hungry as always – we decided to get some ice cream in the centre (a fifteen-minute walk from our hotel). We asked some of our workmates to join us but the only answer we got from everybody was: “Are you fucking crazy? A thunderstorm is threatening and you want to go outside? You can’t be serious?!” We just started to laugh and replied: “What you call a thunderstorm here in Italy is probably only a drizzle for us in Austria..”
And so we put on our summer dresses and went outside with one small umbrella – safety first 😉.
While we were eating our deliciooouus ice cream the sky was visibly growing darker. Therefore, we decided to head slowly back to our hotel. Five minutes later it started to rain and so we opened our umbrella. Suddenly we couldn’t trust our eyes as we saw how fast the sky changed from a grey to a black as dark as you have never seen it before. We felt like being part of a horror-movie as the wind got stronger and stronger. Everything flew through the air: signs, bicycles, sun beds, beach umbrellas and OUR umbrella… Seconds later we were completely drenched and the only thing we wanted to do was running to our room – as fast as we could. Few minutes later we arrived at the hotel and there we thought we are safe – but Selina wasn’t. A sudden gust of wind – so strong as we have never experienced before in Austria – caught her and so she fell down the stairs. Luckily, she hadn’t been hurt and as we get back in our hotel everyone started laughing at us. We stood completely wet and dirty in front of them and the only thing they said was: “Keep calm – it was just a drizzle”.
All in all
we had lots of fun during the summer and we will go back definitely.
Thanks for
reading our blog entry!
See you,
Selina und
Elisa
